WOW Legends is a repack — you download it and run your own Wrath of the Lich King world. This is the practical manual: what each feature does, the controls you (the owner) switch on, and the in-game commands you and the players you invite will actually type. Commands go in the chat box, starting with a dot (.); a few are marked (server owner / GM).

Playerbots — your living world

Hundreds of smart bots quest, grind, run dungeons, join guilds and roam the world, so it feels alive even when you're the only real player online. You can recruit them into your own group and they'll follow, tank, heal and DPS alongside you.

Once a bot is in your group, command it by whispering an order — orders start with $ (a plain whisper with no $ is just chat — see AI chat below). Whisper $help to see everything it understands — common orders:

/w <Name> $help          # list what this bot can do
/w <Name> $follow        # stick with you
/w <Name> $stay          # hold position
/w <Name> $attack        # engage your target
/w <Name> $tank / $heal / $dps   # set its role
/w <Name> $follow target  # follow your current target

Tip: invite a bot to your party the normal way too (target it → invite), then whisper it orders with $. Whispers without $ go to AI chat.

AI companion chat live

This is what makes WOW Legends bots feel alive. Whisper any bot a real message and it answers in character — and it actually knows who it is:

• Grounded — it knows its real name, race, class, talent spec, faction, equipped weapon and current zone, and won't make those up.
• Remembers — it keeps the thread of your recent conversation, so follow-up questions make sense.
• Speaks your language — write to it in English, German, Spanish… it replies in kind.
• Has moods — be friendly and it's warm; be rude and it gives attitude right back.

It doesn't only listen to whispers — bots react to the world around them:

Push your luck and they push back. Keep insulting a bot and its temper climbs — it gets short with you, then storms out of your party, and if you really won't quit, it roars in your face. (All in good fun — gruff in-character banter, nothing worse.)

The AI brain is your choice: skip setup entirely with our hosted AI — no key, no config, it just works (credits — 1 credit = 1 bot reply, and anyone can use it) — or bring your own Ollama (local/cloud) or API key. See the FAQ for how the AI is wired up.

Your own XP rate live

Every character sets its own leveling speed — power-level an alt while a friend takes it slow, on the same realm. Default is 1× (Blizzlike); you can go up to the realm maximum (10× by default).

.xp view          # show your current rate
.xp set 5         # gain XP 5x faster (1 up to the realm max)
.xp default       # back to the realm default (normally 1x)
.xp disable       # freeze your level (stop gaining XP)
.xp enable        # start gaining XP again

.xp disable is handy for twinking or stopping at a level bracket. Your rate is shown when you log in.

Hardcore mode live

One life. When a hardcore character dies — to anything, anywhere — it becomes a fallen hero: a permanent ghost that can never be resurrected. No corpse run, no spirit healer, no second chances. The death is announced to the realm.

It's opt-in, and you can only turn it on at level 1 (it's permanent once set):

.hardcore on        # become hardcore (asks you to confirm)
.hardcore status    # check if you're hardcore / fallen

Prefer a proper "are you sure?" dialog? Talk to the Herald of the Fallen standing in every starting zone — accept through the gossip prompt and your fate is sealed. (Server owners can also force hardcore realm-wide with a single config switch.)

Mak'gora — duel to the death live

Settle a score the old way. Two hardcore players can agree to a lethal duel — the loser falls for good. It only happens with mutual consent: both players must challenge each other.

.makgora <Name>    # challenge that player (they must do the same back)

Normal duels are never lethal — only a mutually-agreed Mak'gora kills. No one can drag you into a death match.

Instant gear server owner / GM

On your own realm (or for kitting out bots), the .gear command instantly equips level-appropriate, spec-aware, enchanted & gemmed gear — great for testing or jumping straight into raids. Select a player (or yourself / a bot) first.

.gear level     # green (uncommon) gear for your level
.gear rare      # blue gear
.gear epic      # purple gear
.gear max       # best available for your level
.gear repair    # repair everything
.gear stats     # show average item level
.gear undress   # move all equipped items to bags

These require GM access, so on a public realm they're staff tools — but every WOW Legends repack ships with them for your own server.
